We work on the mountain, not to change their culture or turn them into Americans like us, but to help them develop a lasting and sustaining relationship with Jesus Christ.

In 1998, immediately following Hurricane Mitch, approximately 300 people living in the capital city of Tegucigalpa fled the devastation to find a safer and drier place to live. These people, in hopes of starting again, invaded the land high above the city - a rocky, undeveloped area overlooking Tegucigalpa.

This area now houses 200,000+ people. To this day, most people living in Tegucigalpa do not know this area exists. These people are some of the poorest in Honduras, living on $1 a day and all within the sight of the most prosperous city in Honduras.

They are why Hope for Honduras exists.

We work daily to provide families the food and medical help they need, as well as provide education and tutoring for their children.

Most importantly, we share the good news of Jesus Christ and the hope that it offers to everyone - no matter age, race, or economic status.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
- Matthew 28:19

We have established numerous programs through which we present the gospel of Jesus Christ to the residents on the mountain.

From our Hope Academy Child Development, Hope Academy English Tutoring, Hope Academy Spanish Tutoring and Hope Academy University Tutoring, we are committed to these kids. We also provide the opportunity to sponsor a student, so he/she can have the financial support to receive an education.

Help support our work in Honduras!
